<p>PURPOSE:To transfer a hood such as a bonnet onto an opening of a car body without stopping the car body moving along a carrying line. CONSTITUTION:On a vertical-shaft guide-beam 6 which is movable in the direction crossing a carrying direction 'a' of a car body 'B' mounted on a carriage D (direction perpendicular to the paper surface), a transfer carriage 8 is supported which is capable of traveling in the 'a' direction synchronously with the car body 'B'. The transfer carriage 8 is provided with an elevating frame 20 which can be elevated by pantograph links 17 and 19, an oscillating frame 38 which can be oscillated by a universal joint 37 against the elevating frame 20 and a clamp means 29 which can be elevated against the oscillating frame 38. As the transfer carriage 8 is moved synchronously with the car body 'B', the height and the angle of a bonnet 'W' clamped onto a vacuum suction pad 48 of the clamp means 29 are adjusted against an opening of the car body 'B', and then, clamping by the vacuum suction pad 48 is released to transfer the bonnet 'W' onto the car body 'B'.</p> |
