The invention relates to an apparatus for applying a fluid, comprising a cylindrical rotatable part adaptable to be pressed against the surface to which the fluid is to be applied, means wherewith the application fluid is conveyed within the rotatable part and distributing means fitted to the cylindrical rotatable part, said means being adapted upon being pressed against the application surface to allow passage of the application fluid onto said surface. To provide a simple construction, the distributing means are made up of at least one groove (5) provided in the surface of the rotatable part and extending around said part and of a sealing ring (6) of resilient material fitted in the groove (5), the breadth and depth of the groove (5) and the thickness and diameter of the sealing ring (6) being so selected that in its free state the sealing ring (6) closes the groove (5) and upon contacting the application surface is pressed into the groove and allows the fluid in the groove (5) to flow out from the groove. |
