PURPOSE:To increase the communication speed between parallel processors and to increase the total processing speed by compressing data which are sent and received between the parallel processors by compressing and expanding circuits, and expanding the data after the transmission and reception. CONSTITUTION:The parallel processors which are mutually connected to function are equipped with means which compress the data to be sent and send the compressed data and means which expand and receive the compressed data for the transmission and reception of the data between the parallel processors, and a compression and expansion device 11 performs the transmission and reception. Namely, the compression and expansion device 11 judges whether or not the data to be sent need to be compressed or not and performs compression when it should be and no compression when it should not be. Consequently, the data transfer speed between the parallel processors becomes fast when image processing wherein a large amount of data are handled is performed by the parallel processors to improve the total processing speed. |
