摘要 |
PURPOSE:To provide a method for efficiently producing an ether compound in a high yield under a mild condition in a short time by reacting an alicyclic olefin with an alcohol compound. CONSTITUTION:A method for producing an ether compound by addition-reacting an alicyclic olefin with an alcohol compound is characterized by employing as a catalyst a heteropolyacid consisting mainly of the oxide of tungsten represented by phosphotungstenic acid and silicotungstenic acid and having a crystallized water content adjusted to <=3.0 water molecules on the average per molecule of the heteropolyacid. As the method for dehydrating the crystallized water of the heteropolyacid consisting mainly of the oxide of the tungsten, a method in which the heteropolyacid is thermally dehydrated under the passage of an inert gas to provide an extremely highly active catalyst is effective. |
