PURPOSE:To provide a machine translation system capable of translating only words or date and hour registered by a user based upon a user's specification and quickly obtaining translated results. CONSTITUTION:When a source language is inputted, a translation module 15 translates the inputted source language and outputs a target language. The source language inputted from a keyboard 14 is sent to the module 15 under the control of a CPU 11. The module 15 translates the inputted source language into the target language by means of a dictionary, grammar rules, and tree structure conversion rules, etc. The translated result is temporarily stored in a main memory 12 and displayed on a CRT 13. When a fast reading mode is selected, the module 15 can execute translation by using only a user registration dictionary. |
