PURPOSE:To make color stripes caused by color divergence unobstructive on a light distributing pattern by elaborating the form of a projecting lens forming a projector type headlamp. CONSTITUTION:A projector type headlamp 1 collects the reflected light by a reflecting surface 3 near the upper edge of a light shielding plate 5 arranged near the second focus F2 of the reflecting surface, and projects the light through a flat convex projector lens 8 after regulating the pattern image corresponding to a cut line. The projector lens 8 is partitioned into four areas seen from the front. An imaging effect area 9(1) for imaging the image of the light shielding plate 5 in the distance has a non-spherical emitting surface and the focus 2F on the optical axis near the upper edge of the light shielding plate 5. A non-imaging effect area 9(2) for never imaging the light shielding plate 5 has a spherical emitting surface (generally, non-spherical surface) and a converting point in the position on the optical axis closer to a light source over a focus F. Transfer areas 9(3R), 9(3L) are provided so that the transfer from the non-imaging effect area 9(2) to the imaging effect area 9(1) is smoothed. The light passing the non-imaging effect area 9(2) forms a scattered light, and it is only the light passing the imaging effect area 9(1) that takes part in the color stripes near the cut line. |
