PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative metal plate of beauty by superposing a color image 17 upon an embossed pattern of the surface of a metal plate 11. SOLUTION: In the decorative metal plate, an image of an embossed pattern is formed on the surface of a metal plate 11, and a transparent resin film 15 is formed on the plate 11 having on its surface the image of an embossed pattern, while an original picture identical to the original picture used to form the image of the embossed pattern on the surface of the plate 11 is used, whereby a color image 17 is formed over the image of an embossed pattern. That is, colors of the color image 17 are applied to the surface of the transparent resin film 15 over the image formed by means of the embossed pattern of the plate 11.
