A catalyst moulding is described which, in the reduced state, contains a metal of the iron group and/or copper on a support and which is characterised by the following features: (a) metal content: 5-40% by weight, based on the total weight of the catalyst; (b) metal crystallite size </=3 nm, (c) volume of the pores having a diameter of from 7.5 nm to 15 mu m: from 0.05 to 0.9 ml/g of catalyst, (d) BET area: 80-400 m<2>/g of catalyst, (e) breaking strength > 30 N (based on a cylindrical moulding having a diameter of 1.5 mm and a length of 5 mm), (f) bulk density: 250-350 g/l. d |
