Bottle-capping machine with magnetic conveyor

The machine fits crown-type caps of ferromagnetic material onto bottles, the caps being fed from a chamber (28) in a row into a passage by a magnetic conveyor in a first direction (C). The conveyor field travels round a curved path (42), and the caps lie with their open or closed sides against a guide face (37) enclosing the chamber. The chamber is at right angles to the axis of the path followed by the field, and which runs in the first direction (C) at the passage inlet. The plane of the guide face and the path of the field are both inclined to the horizontal. The field can be generated by one or more permanent magnets on a rotary ring, disc etc.
