PURPOSE:To provide a process for producing a high-strength ceramic ware having high mechanical strength and high steep wave strength. CONSTITUTION:A raw material mixture containing at least a feldspar raw material and a quartz raw material, having the total content of quartz minerals in the raw materials of 25-65wt.% and free from clay is finely pulverized to obtain powder having an average particle diameter of <=3mum and containing >=98wt.% of particles having particle diameter of <=20mum. The finely pulverized mixture is optionally mixed with clay and the compounded composition is dehydrated, formed, dried, baked at 1200-1290 deg.C for <=1.5 hr and quenched at a cooling rate of <=400 deg.C/hr from the baking temperature to 700 deg.C. |
