<p>PURPOSE: To improve the image quality of the reproduced image. CONSTITUTION: A received analog image data signal I(x, y) is given to an A/D converter 10, where the signal is converted into digital image data. The digital image data is processed in parallel by a simple binarization processing section 20 and a pseudo medium tone processing section 30 and the processed output is given to a data selection section 50. The data selection section 50 sets a window in the image data based on an output from an image data coordinate system processing section 40 and employs the image signal subject to simple binarization processing for the inside or the outside of the window and employs the image signal subject to pseudo medium tone processing for the remaining part.</p> |
