Two wooden beams (10, 11) can be fastened together end to end, by a butt joint, or they can be fastened at an angle to each other. The connector (13) is made from a cruciform metal section which is cut so that the two main flanges are set at an angle to each other which corresponds to the joint angle of the beams. Slots are cut in the ends of the beams to receive the flanges (15) of the connecting element which is secured by means of dowels driven in holes drilled in the beams (10, 11) and in the flanges (15). USE/ADVANTAGE - Connecting element for wooden beams which enables the beams to be set at any required angle to each other.
