An inking arrangement for franking and value-stamping machines comprises an ink transfer roller, an intermediate roller and an inking roller and an ink storage tank. The ink supply in the tank is stored by means of porous material which projects as a doctor blade from a slit in the tank and directly abuts the ink transfer roller. The surface of the intermediate roller disposed between the ink transfer roller and the inking roller is manufactured from porous material and the surface of the inking roller dispensing the stamping ink onto the printing types or stereotype plates is likewise made of porous material.
