Magnetic storage media, e.g. for hard-discs - has low noise magnetic layer on non-magnetic layers, and protective carbon layer on surface
摘要
The magnetic storage media has a magnetic layer (3a) with low noise characteristics and higher coercivity than a second magnetic layer (3b). The high coercivity of the first magnetic layer is maintained by a copper layer (2) below it with a thin magnetic material coating. The magnetic and metallic layers are formed on a non-magnetic substrate (1). A protective layer (4) of carbon and a lubrication layer (5) of fluorocarbon lie on top of the magnetic layers. The width ratio of the first magnetic layer to second is between 1:9 and 7:3. ADVANTAGE - Reduced noise generated during read-write operations.
