PURPOSE: To exactly and efficiently plot a chemical structure by using a computer graphics by emulating an illustration tool used in the case of exactly plotting the chemical structure. CONSTITUTION: This system is constituted of a central processing unit 101, a main memory 103, a display 105, a mouse 107, a key board 109, an I/O processor 111 and a display controller 113. A user prepares a molecule by using the mouse 107 on the display 105. Also, a plotting tool, for example, polygon template, ruler and pencil normally used by a scientist or a technical writer is emulated. A structural formula is prepared from a geometrical object having an exact numeric definition, and can be expressed in the memory 103 of the computer. For plotting a single bond, it is necessary only to designates the starting point and ending point of the bonding, and for plotting a hexagon, it is necessary only to designate the positions of two adjacent vertexes of the hexagon. |
