A connector, providing a parallel coupling between a PC and a printer, has a fixed socket element (2) fixed to the housing wall (1). The socket has a number of pins (6) inset into a shielding element (7). The socket passes through a rectangular slot in the wall. Fixing screws may be used to fix the connector in position using screws passing through holes in the wall (8). An adaptor plate (16') may also be used with a bearing plate (5) to hold the unit in position.
