PURPOSE:To detect that the error correction is performed before the correction processing execution of digital data, to surely detect whether or not the correction capacity is exceeded, and to effectively correct the error by the fast retrying processing even when the correction capacity is exceeded. CONSTITUTION:A dissipation number of objects counting part 31 counts the dissipation number of objects of the data errors, a correction impossibility detecting part 32 compares the counted value and the correction capacity and detects whether or not correction is impossible. An error pattern preparing part 7 counts the error pattern to the pseudo dissipation position set to a pseudo dissipation position setting part 34, an error pattern inspecting part 35 inspects the error pattern of the pseudo dissipation position, and when it is not no error, detects the erroneous correction. A retrying detecting part 33 outputs the retrying request of the error correction by the data of the syndrome and the dissipation number of objects. |
