<p>A transmission line that is capable of being laser marked comprises a core (2) and an extruded jacket surrounding the core, for example formed from inner and outer layers (3) and (4). The line includes a single polymeric extruded outer layer (5) that has a colour that contrasts with that of the underlying jacket and is intimately bonded to the underlying jacket.
