PURPOSE: To improve measurement accuracy by eliminating the influence of the signal transmission delay induced in a signal transmission system for a touch trigger probe used for a positioning device for work pieces, etc. CONSTITUTION: This signal transmission device has a transmitter mounted at the touch trigger probe used for a positioning machine and a receiver for receiving the transmission signal from this transmitter. This transmitter has generating means 16, 18 for master reference signals having reference frequencies, a generated carrier wave signal generating means 16 for the carrier wave signal to be synchronized with these reference frequencies and a means (14) for modulating a probe signal on the carrier wave signal. The receiver has a generating means for a slave reference signal to be synchronized with the reference frequencies, a receiving means for the carrier signal to be modulated and a demodulating means for demodulating the probe signal from the carrier signal to be modulated in synchronization with the slave reference signal. |
