<p>A circuit for processing data by discrete cosine transfer makes a table F(u,v) of NxN coefficients correspond to a table f(x,y) of NxN data, with: <IMAGE> comprising a memory (1) for the data table; a memory (3) for the products P = ¦cos[n(x,u) pi /2N]cos[n(y,v) pi /2N]¦, with: p(x,u) = Sgn[p(x,u)].¦cos[n(x,u) pi /2N]¦ p(y,v) = Sgn[p(y,v)].¦cos[n(y,v) pi /2N]¦ in which n(x,u) and n(y,v) are integers lying between 1 and N-1; a table (7, 9, 19) of the signs of p(x,u) and p(y,v) and of the values of n(x,u) and of n(y,v) addressing the memory of the products; a coordinates generator (5) sequentially supplying pairs of value (u,v) and, for each pair (u,v), all the values of the pairs (x,y); a multiplier (11) producing the product of P with a combination of the data items from the data memory; and a totaliser (13) for the results of the multiplication. <IMAGE></p> |
