PURPOSE:To enable character expressions really matching respective languages and friendly respondence by providing a conversion character ROM in addition to a standard teletext decoder and converting only corresponding characters. CONSTITUTION:The automatic teletext character conversion device 25 consists of a teletext signal variation judging unit 9, an SW (1) 11, a page memory (1) 12, an SW (2) 13, a character judging unit 14, the conversion character ROM 15, an SW (3) 16, a page memory (2) 17, and an SW (4) 19. Then the character judging unit 14 recognizes which language character data of the page are in with a page select signal 2 and select the conversion character ROM matching the page. Characters are judged, one by one, and when one character needs to be converted specially, the character data signal 7 is made into another converted character conversion data signal 18 through the conversion character ROM 15. |
