PURPOSE: To provide a heald frame which has a shaft rod of light weight and large rigidity, can be rapidly assembled by a small number of parts and has a long life, at a low cost. CONSTITUTION: The shaft rod of the heald frame for a loom which is made of a fiber composite and has a flat cross section, is constituted of a light core section 15, a covering layer section 16 which is mechanically rigidly connected to both ends of the core section and is made of the fiber composite and an outside supporting reinforcement member 17 which is rigidly connected to the covering layer section and has high rigidity. Both matrixes of the core section 15 and the covering layer section 16 are made of a thermoplastic deformable resin. Further, the covering layer section 16 has a reinforcement material made of continuous fiber and is rigidly connected to an inside supporting reinforcement member 18.
