The toolhead consists of: an adapter block (3) with a shank (7) fitting into a station of the machine turret (9); a tool spindle unit (5) with chuck (11) for a tool (13); and two side links (15,17) connecting the tool spindle unit and adapter block. The connecting side links (15,17) have two parallel pivot axes (19) and (27) which allow the tool spindle unit to be pivoted through an angle of 180 deg. relative to the adapter block. One of the side links acts as a housing for a train of bevel and spur gears transmitting motion from the turret station tool drive shaft to the spindle of the tool spindle unit (5). USE/ADVANTAGE - Specially for machining holes, slots etc in CNC turned parts over a wide range of angular alignment. Only minimal clearance radius required for pivoting of tool head.
