The main alloying elements of this high-alloy for the production of cast tools, particularly cutting and pressing tools for cold and hot work, are wolfram, molybdenum, and vanadium. It contains by weight 1.1 to 1.3 % of carbon, 3 to 4.5% of chromium, 2.7 to 3.5 % of molybdenum, 5 to 7 % of wolfram, 2.7 to 3.5% of vanadium, and in addition it can contain 0.01 to 0.5 % of silicon and also may contain 0.01 to 0.5% of manganese and/or 0.01 to 0.02 % of boron and/or 0.01 to 0.6% of titanium and/or 0.01 to 1% of aluminium. The rest of the alloy is iron.
