PURPOSE:To restrain scattering of a crystal particle in a method of manufacturing a permanent magnetic material using a single roll method. CONSTITUTION:In an inert gas atmosphere, an Nb-Fe-B group alloy molten metal 11 is jetted from a nozzle 12 and made to strike the peripheral surface of a cooling roll 13 rotating with respect to the nozzle to come into contact with the peripheral surface of the cooling roll, whereby the alloy is cooled from the one direction. In this process, gas flow due to a rotation of the cooling roll 13 strikes the vicinity of a paddle 113 composed of a molten alloy. In order to prevent the striking, a windshield 2 in the vicinity of the cooling roll peripheral surface is provided. |
