The invention relates to a clip closure for bags, in particular to a tape consisting of such clip closures which can be processed in a bag closure machine. The clip closure has the shape of a flat elongate strip 1 with reinforced longitudinal edges. Together with its reinforced longitudinal edges 2, 3 the strip 1 consists solely of a flexible plastic material. For the purpose of reinforcing the longitudinal edges 2, 3, the strip 1 is thicker at the longitudinal edges than in the region lying therebetween. To form intended bending folds 12, 13, the strip is weakened over its entire width at two points which are spaced away from one another and from its two ends, the reinforced longitudinal edges 2, 3 having cutouts 6-9 at these points.
