PURPOSE:To prevent fault and breakdown of components, and enable heat fixing having high safety by providing a means for checking electric power relays to carry out electric power relay control error processing. CONSTITUTION:A fixing heater 1, power relays (electric power source relays) 5, 6 for cutting a driving power source to the fixing heater 1 when a fault is detected, and monitor circuits 7-10 provided between the fixing heater 1 and the power relays 5, 6 and for monitoring drive condition of the fixing heater 1 are provided. Furthermore, a means for checking the power relays to carry out power relay control error processing when drive condition is detected by the monitor circuits 7-10 under the condition that the power relays 5, 6 are cut is provided. Consequently, the situation that a safety device is not operated is avoided to improve the safety remarkably. Fault and breakdown of components is thereby prevented to enable the heat fixing having high safety. |
