PURPOSE:To test a battery even while operating a system or the storage device. CONSTITUTION:This device is the storage device with battery backup and by supplying power from a commercial power source according to a command from a control part 50, a power supply switching control part 30 switches the power supply to power supply from the battery. At such a time, a battery degradation detecting part 21 detects the degradation of the battery while supplying power from the battery and can set a degraded state signal. The control part 50 reads the degraded state signal set by the battery degradation detecting means 21 and can report such a state to a host device. |
