A slow release herbicidal particulate composition suitable for use in paddy rice comprising (1) One or more of three specified herbicides: (2) paraffin wax; (3) synthetic or naturally occurring polymer(s) having a hydrocarbon backbone; and (4) a solid particulate filler; wherein the weight ratio of paraffin wax: polymer ranges from 5:1 to 0.5:1; the weight ratio of active ingredient(s): paraffin wax and polymer ranges from 1:25 to 1:0.25 and the solid particulate filler ranges from 1 to 95% by weight of the total composition.
