A building set for educational and therapeutic purposes for both children and adults consists of socket members 1 with a socket 3 at each end of a leg 6, engageable by a respective ball 8 of various types of joiner members 2. The leg(s) of the joiner members may be flexible so as to enable the movement of a joiner member beyond a 90 DEG movement imposed on the ball 8 by the socket 3. The socket 3 has a lip 4 with an undercut 5 to improve gripping the ball 8. The members 3 may have a number of conjoined legs each provided with a ball at each distal end (Fig. 4). There may be further provided an interconnecting member in the form of a sphere provided with a plurality of sockets (Fig. 8). The building set can be used to construct various shapes such as animal forms, molecular or atomic structures geodesic domes, and space frame structures. <IMAGE> |
