<p>PURPOSE:To display an in-music passing time suited to a tape traveling direction not only in an FF mode but also in an FR mode, in a magnetic recording and reproducing device such as an R-DAT. CONSTITUTION:At the time of recording a music program in a magnetic tape 22, a system control circuit 12 stores the music length of the (N-1)th program in a storage part 32, and records it with a start ID in the subarea of a track at the music head part of the next Nth program. On the other hand, at the time of the high speed unwinding of the magnetic tape 22, the music length of the (N-1)th program to be rewound next time is read out from the music head part of the Nth program and store it in the storage part 32. Then, during the unwinding of the (N-1)th program, an absolute passing time with a tape head as a starting point is read out from the subarea of each track, it is subtracted from the music length stored in the storage part 32 in order to successively calculate the in-music passing time from the music head of the program until a present position, and the calculated result is displayed at a display part 31.</p> |
