The present invention relates to a device for collecting, filtering out and removing air pollutants, particularly for cooking surfaces and professional kitchen worktops. This device comprises a collector (5) mounted over a cooking surface, being of a generally triangular cross-section and consisting of a back wall (53), a top wall (52), two lateral walls (54) and a front wall comprising an opening (7) to admit pollutant vapours. Said front wall comprises two opposing longitudinal free edges each comprising a track (10, 11) running the full length of the collector (5) and formed by folding the corresponding free edge of said wall. And at least two edges (510, 540) for connection, belonging to two different walls (51, 54) of the collector (5)/hood (4) assembly are assembled by means of a tight double fold formed on one (540) of these edges (510, 540). This device is applicable particularly to collecting, filtering out and removing air pollutants in a professional kitchen. <IMAGE>
