Heat exchanger for cool waste air - has rotor with shaft, carrying heat exchanger plates and intermediate stationary angled stripper element

The heat exchanger is for the cooling of waste air, esp. warm oil-containing air. The air flows over heat transfer surfaces in a housing. The housing (1) contains a rotor (3, 4), with a shaft (3), connected to a drive. The shaft is positioned horizontally, and at right angles to the flow direction of the waste air to be treated. The shaft carries disc-shaped heat exchanger plates (4), the lower parts of which are immersed in a cooling fluid bath (13). Stripper elements (6) are located between exchanger plates, and act with their surfaces. These are also partly immersed into the cooling fluid bath. The elements are strip-shaped, and at right angles to the exchanger plates. USE/ADVANTAGE - Good heat transfer between warm waste air and cooling medium. System allows continuous environmentally friendly removal of contaminant deposits.
