The constructional component comprises two parallel plates of hard fibrous material, spaced apart. The intervening space is filled under pressure with hard polyurethane foam to form a rigid structure. Fireproof cladding can be glued to one or both sides, typically comprising a layer of plaster, perlite and fibres, to which a ceramic-fibre mat is fixed on the fire side. Fixed to the mat on the outside is layer of woven polypropylene fibres. The wt. of the foam can be between 35 and 45 Kg/m3 and the thickness of the plates between 4 and 8 mm. ADVANTAGE - Low cost and lightweight with good sound and heat insulation.
