<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the time from the turning on of the power to lighting of discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular wave voltage is generated by a rectangular wave inverter INV. The state of a discharge lamp DL is sensed on the basis of the output voltage of a lamp voltage sensing circuit, and the output of the inverter INV is enlarged if the discharge lamp DL remains out of lighting while the inverter output is lessened if the lamp is lit up by the use of a control circuit CR, A pseudo no-load voltage corresponding to the inter-end voltage at the time the lamp DL being with no load is impressed on this control circuit CR until the specified value is attained by the inter-end voltage of a capacitor C1 after the power is put on. The output of the inverter INV is enlarged immediately after the power is put on for accumulating the voltage generating energy in an ignitor IG quickly and amply to allow the ignitor IG to be actuated quickly after the power is put on, so that the time from the power being put on till the lamp DL being lit up can be shortened.</p> |
