The invention relates to an apparatus enabling the security locks of entry doors to be opened by remote control from outside the flats (apartments) by a coded emission of infrared radiation. The code is tapped in (composed) and programmed by the user who can change it in the event of loss or theft of the remote-control key. This key is made up of an infrared-emitter case to which there corresponds a lock having a keypad invisible from outside the door and whose opening mechanism is triggered by the action of the infrared radiation. Moreover, the case is equipped with an alarm which is triggered if the code entered is different from that which has been programmed, and with a warning light for checking the run-down of the supply batteries, whereas the corresponding lock is fitted with reserve batteries ensuring operational autonomy in the event of a cut in the electrical circuit. The remote-control key is more particularly intended to be employed by individuals, but may also be employed in places of communal use. <IMAGE>
