This device is of the type consisting of a diaphyseal plate continued angularly at one end by a barrel in which there can be engaged an anchor bolt anchored to the head of the femur, a screw being provided in order to effect, by means of its tightening, a relative translational displacement of the barrel and of the anchor bolt, and the barrel comprising two opposite flat surfaces formed in its inner wall for immobilising the anchor bolt in terms of rotation. According to the invention, the anchor bolt (6) comprises an even number of flat surfaces (16) at least equal to four, these being arranged in parallel and diametrally opposed pairs. <IMAGE>
