摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the gradation inversion and, the abnormally high light shielding rate at a prescribed visual angle and driving voltage of the TFT-LCD. CONSTITUTION:Insulating films which insulate drain-source electrodes 2, 3 and picture element electrodes 4 on a TFT substrate are so formed as not to form a part of the picture element electrodes 5 on these electrodes, by which a 1st cell spacing and a 2nd cell spacing are obtd. The visual field angle characteristic of the LCD is the average of a liquid crystal having n.d1 and a liquid crystal having n.d2 if the LCD is constituted in such a manner and, therefore, the min. transmittance is no longer exhibited at the other cell spacing even if the min. transmittance is exhibited at the one cell spacing. The appearance of the abnormally high light shielding rate at the prescribed visual angle and voltage is thus averted.</p>
