<p>An A/D converter (3) quantizes an input signal, and the quantized signal is shifted by a shift register (4) to generate data on the amplitude of a current bit, data on the amplitude of a preceding bit to be identified, and data on the amplitude of a next-to-first preceding bit. An identifier (100) binarizes the data on the amplitude of the preceding bit by using selected optimum one of a bit identifying process using an integral method or a bit identifying process using a second-order difference method in accordance with the value of the data on the amplitude of the preceding bit obtained by the shifting process. <IMAGE></p> |
