Joining PTFE coated conveyor belts - by shaping coated chemically and thermally resistant fibre belts and joining with interposed PTFE film

The ends of PTFE-coated glass, Kevlar (R.T.M.), Nomex (R.T.M.) or similar conveyor belts are joined together by scarfing or stepping them and bonding them together over their complete width e.g. by welding, glueing etc.. A film of PTFE is also applied to both sides of the join and is bonded to both of the ends. ADVANTAGE - The join is not made thicker. It does not make an impression on the prod. being conveyed. It is chemically resistant. Heat is conducted uniformly by the whole length of the belt. The belt can be used on both sides.
