Display system designed to be mounted on a helmet, comprising two image projection devices which can be attached on opposite sides of the helmet and each emit an image intended for an eye of the person wearing the helmet, and further comprising a visor provided with at least one optically transparent (light-transmitting) reflective optical element. Said optical element receives the images emitted by both image projection devices and reflects each image to the eye for which that image is intended. To keep the image projection devices outside the field of vision of the wearer of the helmet, and to improve the weight distribution of the equipment placed on the helmet, provision is made, in the ray trajectory (beam path) of a specific image projection device to the corresponding optically transparent reflective optical element, for an optically transparent reflective optical auxiliary element which is arranged in the vicinity of the corresponding image projection device or of the visor, and reflects the rays coming from the image projection device to the corresponding optically transparent reflective optical element. <IMAGE>
