PURPOSE:To make an integral type power steering simple and compact and improve its responsiveness by using an electroviscous fluid. CONSTITUTION:A rack piston 3 is slidably provided at a gear case 1. This rack piston 3 is provided with a first and a second electrode mechanisms 15, 17, and the inner surface of the gear case 1 is provided with a third and a fourth electrode mechanisms 19, 21. The electric field of each electrode mechanism is controlled according to the voltage applied to each electrode mechanism. The viscosity of an electroviscous fluid in an electrode part is controlled by controlling the electric field of each electrode mechanism. |
