The folded blank (FZ) is removed from a magazine (M) and moved parallel to the plane of the end boundary face, with the fold face forming the bottom of the subsequent protective shoe. The folded blank is positioned in front of the boundary face and held firm against same so that the remaining folded faces of the blank are unfolded against the corresponding boundary faces, and then stuck together. The folded blanks are stacked in a magazine associated with a suction plate (5) mounted on its support (6) to tilt about an axis (2) at a distance from the lower opening edge of the delivery opening (EO) parallel to same. Between the delivery opening and suction plate there is a vertically rise and fall holder frame with clamping elements for the folded blank (FZ). USE/ADVANTAGE - Simplified action wherein the folding head comprises few parts and single train of movement wraps the shoe.
