PURPOSE:To increase the speed of response and make the flight path of ink longer by a method wherein particles of ink are jetted from a nozzle with the formation of swollen meniscus by an electrostriction vibrator and the impression of the separating voltage and are accelerated by the accelerating voltage in flying. CONSTITUTION:Pressure is given to the ink inside a nozzle 1 by the electrostiction vibrator 2 excited by an exciting voltage generator 5 provided in an ink-jet head and thereby the meniscus swollen outwardly in such a degree as not to be separated into a particle of ink is formed. A controlling electrode 3 is provided in front of the nozzle 1, the separating voltage is impressed on the electrode 3 by means of a separating voltage generator 6, and thereby the particle of ink is formed from the swollen meniscus and attracted in the direction of the controlling electrode. In addition, an accelerating electrode 4 is provided between the controlling electrode 3 and a paper 8 for recording and the accelerating voltage is impressed on the electrode 4 by means of an accelerating voltage supplying circuit 7, whereby the flight of the separated particle of ink toward the paper 8 is accelerated. As for the accelerating voltage, the one of direct current is applicable, while the separating voltage is comparatively low, and thus a switching circuit is simplified. |
