PURPOSE:To provide a highly accurate liquid crystal projection type display device having a cost merit and improve a light utilization factor with a yielding liquid crystal panel by driving plural liquid crystal panel optical systems in which the necessary number of picture elements is made 1/4. CONSTITUTION:Plural optical systems 1 and 1a composed of a color resolution system, liquid crystal panels, and a color synthetic system are provided, a phase difference of a 1/2 dot pitch is given between liquid crystal panels of the optical systems 1 and 1a as for horizontal picture elements, picture element positions are shifted vertically in a 1/2 dot pitch width by operating a moving mirror 17 with an actuator 18 in synchronizing with odd and even number fields as for vertical picture elements, and the number of the picture elements of the liquid crystal panels are made four times equivalently. |
