PURPOSE: To provide an improved method of forming a color filter for a liquid crystal display device which reduces wasting expensive substrates in accordance with unmatching of patterns used for adhering a dye for the color filter. CONSTITUTION: A transferring of the dye intermediate material is executed onto a substrate, carrying a substrate layer of a material having a free acid group by applying numerous patterns consisting of that dye intermediate materials respectively to a carrier element to form many color patterns of the respective colors for the color filter in the substrate layer, in accordance with an interaction with the dye intermediate material.
