CALCIUM PHOSPHATE CEMENT FOR LIVING BODY

PURPOSE:To obtain a cement for living body with excellent affinity to the living body which can be filled at an arbitrary location. CONSTITUTION:This cement comprises a powder agent which uses as main component a mixture of a third calcium phosphate and a second calcium phosphate arranged to be 1.4-1.498 in Ca/Pmol ratio and a liquid agent and the powder agent contains 0.1-5wt.% of apatite whisker per the total amount thereof while the third calcium phosphate is mixture of alpha type third calcium phosphate and a beta type third calcium phosphate. The calcium phosphate cement for a living body shows a high strength with excellent affinity to living body while is limited in variations in the strength. It also has excellent fluidity and operability in kneading thereby allowing filling at an arbitrary location such as a part with a complicated from or a narrow part. In addition, there is no deterioration in strength in vivo for a long time.
