The tubular filter with an annular filter chamber between its housing and a perforated tube suspended concentrically inside, is supported by an end cap, adjacent to which is the supply connection and the open end of the inner tube, forming the discharge opening. A butterfly valve at the other end assists cleaning, and a net sleeve encloses the perforated inner tube, which is made of Ni alloy made by an electrical forming process. The holes through the tube are conical, being larger in dia. at the internal surface, and are radiused at these inner edges. The proportions of the holes, the slope (alpha) of their sides and the radius (r) with respect to the thickness (a) of the material are specified.
