<p>PURPOSE:To accelerate a loading operation in recording and reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A first sensor which detects the tape top of a magnetic tape is provided in a loading mechanism, and also, a second sensor which detects a tape end is provided, and the second sensor is comprised of a light transmitter/receiver 7 located at a position on a tape path in the neighborhood of a cassette loading position (a), and the first sensor is comprised of a light transmitter/ receiver 4a located at a position on the tape path in the neighborhood of the cassette loading position (a) and a light transmitter/receiver 4b facing with a cassette 1 located at the cassette loading position (a). Thereby, it is possible to detect the tape top of even a magnetic tape T set in a full-top state by the light transmitter/receiver 4b facing with the cassette 1 after the cassette is loaded, and to shorten a time spent on the detection of the tape top.</p> |
