PURPOSE:To enhance the high speed cutting property by laminating a hard ceramic layer based on Al2O3 on a scooping surface of a thermet tool based on WC, TiC or TiN. CONSTITUTION:On both scooping surfaces of the WC, TiC or TiN based thermet tool, the hard ceramic material based on Al2O3 is laminated in a thickness, of 0.5mm. or more. As the hard ceramic material, 100% of Al2O3 or an ionrg. substance comprising more than 50% of Al2O3 and a nitride, a carbide on an oxide such as TiN, MgO, TiC, Mo2C, WC or TaN is used. Said cutting tool has a property sufficient to be used in the high speed cutting with a cutting speed of 200- 600m/min. |
